Terms of Sale

Last updated: 2026-10-08

These are the rules that apply when you buy from stickermtl.com. They are written in plain language, without needless jargon. Read them before you order: they are part of your contract with us. StickerMTL is a trade name of Les Créations François Lacroix inc., a business based in Blainville, Quebec. Your online purchases are distance contracts: Quebec's Consumer Protection Act applies, and nothing here can reduce the rights it gives you.

1.Who we are

StickerMTL is a trade name and a division of Les Créations François Lacroix inc., a Quebec corporation. It is not a separate company: when you buy on stickermtl.com, your contract is with Les Créations François Lacroix inc., and that is the name on your invoice.

Legal name: Les Créations François Lacroix inc. (short form: "Créations Lacroix"). Trade name used online: StickerMTL. Quebec enterprise number (NEQ): to come. GST number: to come. QST number: to come.

Business address and pickup point: 101 rue Gaston-Dumoulin, Blainville, Quebec to come, Canada. Phone: to come. Email: info@stickermtl.com.

François Lacroix is president and owner. Francis Lacroix is vice-president.

2.What these terms cover

These terms of sale apply to every order placed on stickermtl.com. Before you pay, you must check the box confirming that you have read them and that you accept them; the link to this page is right next to the box. If that box and that link are not shown before the payment button, these terms are not binding on you: the law requires us to put them in front of you before you commit.

Your online purchases are distance contracts under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act (sections 54.1 and following). That Act gives you rights that no clause on this page can reduce. If a clause conflicted with the law, the law wins and the rest of the page still applies.

The version of these terms that applies to your order is the one posted on the site at the moment you pay.

3.Custom-made products

We print vinyl stickers from the artwork you supply: as singles, custom die-cut, rectangular or round, or as 8.5 × 11 in sheets with your design repeated and kiss-cut. Every order is made for you, after you order. Nothing is pulled off a shelf.

The details of each product (material, size, finish, cut type, quantity) are described on the product page and shown again in your cart before payment. The size you choose is the size we print.

The sample images on the site are examples only. Your sticker is printed from your file, not from those examples.

4.Prices, taxes and currency

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Posted prices do not include taxes. GST (5%) and QST (9.975%) are calculated on the subtotal plus shipping, then shown separately at checkout.

Shipping charges, if any, are shown before you pay. Pickup in Blainville is free. The total you see on screen before paying is the total you pay: no mandatory fee is added afterwards. The only amount that can come later is re-shipping a parcel that comes back to us because the address was incomplete or wrong — at its actual cost, and we give you the amount before shipping again (see "Pickup and shipping").

If an obvious pricing error slips onto the site, we never bill you more than the posted price: the law forbids it (section 224(c) of the Consumer Protection Act). We tell you before producing your order and we do one of two things: either we honour the posted price, or we cancel the order and refund you in full. If you then want to order at the corrected price, that is a new order.

5.Payment

Orders are paid in full before production. Printing starts when the payment is received.

Online payments go through Stripe Checkout, on Stripe's own pages: credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, depending on what Stripe shows you. Your card number is handled by Stripe; our site never sees it and never stores it.

If online payment is not available when you order, we send you an invoice with a secure payment link instead, and printing starts as soon as the payment is received.

If the payment is declined, interrupted or cancelled by your bank, the order is not confirmed and production does not start.

6.How your order is formed

Before you pay, you see your full order: items, quantities, prices, taxes, delivery method and total. You can go back, fix a mistake, remove an item or abandon the order. Nothing is final until you press the payment button.

As soon as your order is recorded, we send you a confirmation email. It contains your order number, the details of each item, the prices, the shipping charges, GST and QST shown separately, the total and the delivery method. One honest detail: that email goes out when we record your order, so before we know whether your payment went through. It is not proof of payment.

The law requires us to give you a complete copy of the contract within 15 days of your order. That copy is your invoice: it carries your name and address, the date of the order, our legal name, our address, our phone number, our email, our GST and QST numbers, the item details, GST and QST separately, and the total paid. After a card payment, you download it as a PDF from the confirmation page; otherwise, write to us at info@stickermtl.com and we send it to you. Keep it.

If you do not receive your confirmation email or your invoice, check your spam folder, then write to us: we send them again. And if your copy of the contract does not contain everything the law requires, you can cancel your order — see "Your cancellation rights under the law".

7.Your artwork, your responsibility

You supply the artwork: you upload your file or you create it in the on-site editor. We print what you give us, at the size you choose.

You are responsible for what your file contains: resolution, spelling, text, colours, and the position and size of every element. Check it carefully before confirming.

A low-resolution file produces a blurry or pixelated sticker. The editor shows your image's resolution while you work and warns you when it is too low. If you ask us to print it anyway, the result is not a manufacturing defect.

Screen colours and printed colours are never identical: your screen emits light, ink reflects it. A reasonable shift in shade between your screen, your preview or an earlier print run and the sticker you receive is normal and is not a defect. If a colour has to be exact, talk to us before ordering.

By confirming the preview (the proof) shown before payment, you approve the artwork, the size and the cut. That approved preview is the reference if we later have to compare the result.

8.What we check before printing

Before starting production, we look at your file: resolution, dimensions, cut area, transparency. It is a technical check, not a review of your design — and it comes on top of the resolution warning the editor already shows you while you work.

If something is likely to print badly, we email or call you. The production clock restarts when you answer and we have your go-ahead.

We do not correct spelling mistakes in your text and we do not change your design without your agreement.

9.Production time: 2 to 3 business days

Production takes 2 to 3 business days after your order is confirmed. "Confirmed" means: payment received and artwork approved on both sides.

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Quebec statutory holidays.

We ship your order, or make it available for pickup, within 2 to 3 business days of confirmation. Delivery then usually takes 2 to 4 business days in Quebec, and a little longer elsewhere in Canada. At the latest, we undertake to perform your order — delivered, or available for pickup — within 30 days of confirmation. If we do not, you may cancel it: see "Your cancellation rights under the law".

If you need a specific date, ask us before you order: we confirm it by email and it becomes the date set in your contract.

If we expect to miss the deadline, we tell you and propose a new date. You are free to accept it or refuse it.

10.Pickup and shipping

Two options: free pickup at our Blainville shop (101 rue Gaston-Dumoulin), or delivery anywhere in Quebec and Canada. We do not ship outside Canada. We email you when your order is ready or shipped.

For pickup, we set a time with you by email or phone once your order is ready. Bring your order confirmation.

You provide the delivery address. Check it before you pay. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was incomplete or wrong, it has to be shipped again: we then ask you for the actual cost of re-shipping, with no penalty and no flat amount, and we give you the amount before shipping again.

Once the parcel is handed to the carrier, transit time depends on the carrier. Carrier delays, storms and strikes are not within our control and we cannot guarantee the exact hour of arrival. That takes nothing away from our obligations to you: see the next paragraph and the section on your cancellation rights.

Until you receive your order, the risk is on us. If the parcel does not arrive, or arrives damaged, write to us: we reprint or refund, and we are the ones who deal with the carrier claim. There is no deadline for telling us a parcel never arrived. For a pickup, risk passes to you when you take the order at the shop.

11.If your order arrives damaged or wrong

We make mistakes like everyone else. If what you receive does not match the proof you approved, if the cut is off the lines, if the print is damaged, or if the quantity does not add up, it is on us to fix it.

Write to us within 10 days of receiving the order, with photos of the item and the packaging. We review the file and either reprint the item or refund it: you choose between the two.

That 10-day window mainly exists to let us file a claim with the carrier. After it, your rights under the law, including the legal warranty, remain fully intact.

We may ask you to send the item back or, if that is simpler, to destroy it. If we ask for a return, we pay the shipping.

12.Cancelling or changing before production

You can cancel or change your order at no cost as long as production has not started. Write to us as soon as possible with your order number.

If production has not started, we refund you in full within 15 days, to the same payment method where that is possible, otherwise by another method we agree on with you.

If production has already started, we cannot simply cancel: the vinyl is printed with your artwork and cannot be resold to anyone else. Write to us anyway and we will see what is possible.

If you cancel after production has started, we may keep the share of the price that corresponds to the work actually done and the material actually used. It is not a penalty and not a fixed percentage: it is our actual cost. We show you the calculation, you can dispute it, and we refund you the difference.

13.Returns and refunds on custom work

In Quebec, an online purchase like this one does not come with a general right to change your mind: the law gives you no no-questions-asked withdrawal period. It does give you specific cancellation rights when we fail to meet our obligations — they are explained further down, under "Your cancellation rights under the law". And our stickers are printed with your artwork, for you alone.

So we do not take back or refund an item that matches the proof you approved simply because you changed your mind, picked the wrong size or quantity, or supplied a blurry or misspelled file.

We do, however, reprint or refund in all of these cases: the item does not match the approved proof; it is damaged or defective; we got the product, size or quantity wrong; the order was never delivered; you cancel before production starts; or the law gives you the right to cancel (see the next two sections).

We have no "no refunds" policy. In any case, a policy like that could not set aside the legal warranty or the cancellation rights the law gives you — and it is not how we work.

14.The legal warranty

Whatever is written here, the legal warranty under the Consumer Protection Act applies: the sticker must be fit for the normal use of a sticker and must last a reasonable time, given the price paid, the conditions of use and what we told you.

That warranty covers defects: ink failing for no reason, adhesive that will not hold, a bad cut, laminate peeling off. These are not defects: normal wear, and damage caused by incorrect application, pressure washing, solvents, scrapers, or a dirty, oily or damaged surface.

A printed sticker cannot be repaired and there are no spare parts for it: we therefore supply no spare parts, no repair service and no maintenance information for these products. If an item is defective, we reprint it or refund it.

Where a material lifespan is stated on a product page, it assumes application on a clean, smooth surface and normal use. We do not commit to a lifespan we have not written down — but the legal warranty of reasonable durability applies in any case, even where no lifespan is advertised.

15.Your cancellation rights under the law

On top of everything above, the Consumer Protection Act lets you cancel a distance contract in specific situations. Here they are, in plain language.

You can cancel within 7 days of receiving your copy of the contract in any of these cases: we did not disclose to you, before the order, the information the law requires, or we did not present it in an evident and intelligible manner; we did not give you the opportunity to accept or refuse the proposal and to correct its errors before entering into it; your copy of the contract does not contain everything the law requires, namely your name and address, the date of the contract and the information disclosed before the order; or we did not send it to you in a way that lets you easily keep it and print it on paper. The information the law requires is: our name and trade names, our address, our phone number and email, a detailed description of each product, the itemized prices, charges and taxes, any charges a third party could require, the total payable, the payment terms, the date or time limit for performance, the delivery method, the carrier's name and the place of delivery, the terms of cancellation, return, exchange or refund, and any other restriction. If you only notice the failure at delivery, or when you receive your credit card statement, the 7-day period runs from that moment.

If we do not send you your copy of the contract within 15 days of your order being entered into, the cancellation period becomes 30 days, running from the date the contract was entered into.

If we fail to perform our principal obligation — delivering your stickers or making them available for pickup — within 30 days of the date set in the contract, or within 30 days of the order if no date was set, you may cancel at any time before we perform it. One nuance: we are deemed to have performed if we attempted delivery on the agreed date and were prevented by your act or negligence, for example a wrong address or a parcel never claimed.

To cancel, send us a notice by email or by mail: you only have to tell us you are cancelling, you do not have to justify it. Keep proof that you sent it. The contract is cancelled by operation of law as soon as your notice is sent, and so are any accessory contracts. We refund every amount you paid within 15 days of the cancellation. If you already received the goods, you return them to us within 15 days of the cancellation (or of delivery, if delivery comes later), in the condition you received them, and we cover the reasonable cost of the return.

This summary does not replace the law: sections 54.1 and following of the Consumer Protection Act have the last word.

16.If we do not refund you: credit card chargeback

If you cancelled your order in one of the cases the law provides and we have not refunded you within 15 days, you can ask your credit card issuer to reverse the charge. This is called a chargeback.

You have 60 days from the end of that 15-day period to make your request in writing to the financial institution that issued your card. State your name, your card number and its expiry date, our name, the date of the order, the amount charged to your account and the amount to be refunded, a description of the products concerned, the reason for the cancellation, the date you sent us your notice and how you sent it.

The issuer must send you an acknowledgment within 30 days. It must then reverse the charge and the related credit charges within 90 days of your request, or within the next two complete statement periods — whichever is shorter.

This right applies to payments made by credit card, including a credit card used through Apple Pay or Google Pay.

You do not have to contact us before exercising this right. We would still much rather settle it with you directly: write to us at info@stickermtl.com, it is usually faster for everyone.

17.Intellectual property and refused content

Your artwork stays yours. We do not use it for anything other than producing your order.

By sending us a file, you confirm that you have the right to use it and to have it printed: it is your own creation, or you have the rights holder's permission, or you hold the licence needed for the font, photo, illustration, logo or character you are using.

If someone claims against us or sues us because your artwork infringed their rights, you are answerable for the amounts, the reasonable legal costs and the direct damages that result, to the extent the problem comes from the content you supplied to us. You are not answerable for our own fault, for anything we may have added or changed on our side, or for indirect losses. If you are buying as a consumer, this clause cannot make you pay more than the law allows us to claim from you.

We may refuse an order, before or after payment, if the artwork is illegal, hateful, violent, discriminatory or sexually explicit, if it incites hatred or violence against a person or a group, if it impersonates someone, if it reproduces a trademark, logo, work or character without the right to do so, or if it is meant to deceive the public (fake documents, fake certifications, fake official plates or stickers).

If we refuse an order for one of those reasons, we refund you in full. We are not required to verify the rights in every file: our refusal is an option we keep, not a guarantee that your file is lawful.

To produce your order, we keep your file and the print-ready PNG generated by the editor. They are kept in private storage with our host and are used to produce your order, to redo it if it is defective, and to reproduce it if you reorder. The print file also stays in your browser's storage until your cart is emptied. We have no automatic deletion: those files stay there until we delete them. To ask for their deletion, or to access, correct, withdraw or retrieve your personal information, write to info@stickermtl.com — François Lacroix handles it.

The site, its text, its online editor, its templates and its clipart belong to us or are used with permission. You may use them to create your stickers with us, not to copy, extract or resell them.

18.Limits on our liability

We are responsible for what we do: if we print badly, ship the wrong product, or deliver late through our own fault, we fix it, reprint it or refund it.

If you are buying as a consumer, we do not limit our liability. The Consumer Protection Act forbids us from contracting out of the consequences of our own act or that of our employees (section 10), and we are not trying to: you keep all of your remedies, including the legal warranty and the damages the law provides.

The limit below therefore applies only to customers who are not consumers — a business, an organization, or a purchase made for professional purposes. For them, our liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for that order, taxes included, and we do not pay indirect losses: lost profits, a lost contract, a postponed event, installation time, a failed campaign, an installer's fees.

This limit never applies in cases of gross or intentional fault, or to bodily or moral injury (article 1474 of the Civil Code of Québec). And the Consumer Protection Act does not apply to the contract of a customer who is not a consumer: their remedies are those of the Civil Code of Québec and of these terms.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by an unforeseeable and irresistible event, within the meaning of article 1470 of the Civil Code of Québec: fire, flood, major storm, widespread power or internet outage, strike. Such an event never covers our own fault. If it prevents us from producing your order, we tell you and refund the part that was not produced.

19.Governing law and courts

These terms and your order are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and the laws of Canada that apply there.

A distance contract with a consumer is deemed to be entered into at the consumer's address. If you live in Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act applies, wherever our servers or our suppliers' servers happen to be.

If there is a dispute, the court with jurisdiction is the one for the judicial district where you have your domicile or your residence, whether you are the plaintiff or the defendant (article 43 of the Code of Civil Procedure). We do not impose any other court on you, and no clause on this page can take that away. If you are not buying as a consumer (a business, an organization, professional purposes), the courts of the judicial district of Terrebonne, at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse, have jurisdiction, since our place of business is in Blainville.

We do not impose arbitration on you and we do not ask you to waive a class action: in a consumer contract in Quebec, such a clause is prohibited.

20.Language

These terms exist in French, English and Spanish. The French version is the official one: it is available at all times on the site, the English and Spanish versions are courtesy translations, and if the versions differ the French version prevails.

You can write to us in French or in English, and we answer in the same language, Monday to Friday. If you write to us in Spanish, we answer in French or in English.

21.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example if our products, our lead times or the law change. The version that applies to your order is the one posted when you pay: a change has no effect on an order already paid for.

22.Contacting us and making a complaint

A question, a problem, an order to fix? Write to info@stickermtl.com or call to come. We are at 101 rue Gaston-Dumoulin, Blainville, Quebec to come, Canada.

Write to us first: most problems are settled with one email and a reprint.

If we cannot work it out, you can file a complaint with the Office de la protection du consommateur (opc.gouv.qc.ca) or go to court. For a claim of $15,000 CAD or less, the Small Claims Division of the Court of Québec is a simple, low-cost option: you argue your own case, without a lawyer.
